My sister decided to ship her car back East from CA. We researched enclosed, insured carriers on-line choosing Horseless Carrier. I had seen them along Route 95 CT a few times and knew they were based in NJ. I noted their trucks were always clean and the drivers weren't maniacs in rush hour traffic.
Our inital contact was with Kurt via email. We supplied specific details on the car and pick up / delivery locations and the request for an enclosed transport plus the pricing. Kurt answered via email immediately with the exact info we needed.
After coordinating with my sister, we called Lori at Horseless Carriage Customer Service. She was excited to quickly get our order moving. Their procedure is the driver would call the night before pickup / and delivery. This allows for plenty of time to plan.
Friday, our driver, Dan, went over the car with my sister at pick-up. Any marks were noted and agreed upon. The next weekend, Dan called me Saturday night reporting in. Our delivery was scheduled for Sunday AM.
Be aware, these are BIG trucks. Dan agreed to meet us at a nearby grocery store parking lot. It was much easier for both of us!! We reviewed the initial pick up sheet, visually checked the car and happily handed over the cashiers check!
Shortly, as a follow-up, we received a postcard to rate Horseless Carriage's service. I'm happy to suggest Horseless Carriage to anyone shipping cross country.
