The company offers insurance, however does not provide you a copy of this policy. My vehicle was flood damaged while in DAS custody and the insurance did not cover my damages. When filing our claim w DAS, we were immediately denied and anyone we tried to talk to about our claim and what evidence we had to support our claim, did not help. After the fact, I was emailed a few pages from some policy and hi-lighted some verbage that did not make any sense at all. My only recourse was to file with small claims court to recoup on the $6487.76 that I spent to have my vehicle back to working order and delivered to the final destination. I also had to pay for the last leg of transport to final desitnation as subcontractor would not honor, even though it has already been paid for. I was awarded judgement from the California small claims court, but DAS has not repsonded. The shipping arrangments were done thru the DAS located in New Jersey, however I live in California and had to go thru the Secretary of State (California) to serve the small claim filing on the Secretary of State ( New Jersey) via the Sheriff's department. That was time consuming and an additional expense. People purchase insurance for a reason, I don't understand how a claim is denied, when the policy was never provided in the first place. Bottom line, check out DAS website, see if they have a insurance policy you can review. There is mention of an insurance policy and a link to access it , but there was no link. I would hope a company in business for as long as they have been in would do the right thing, contact me and pay me what the courts have awarded.
