After we found and purchased a Honda Element in Santa Barbara, CA, we were not in any hurry to have the car shipped up to us. We therefore decided to go with the least expensive shipping option which was "Stand-By Shipping" offered by Corporate Auto Transport for a total price of $465. A person needs a little bit of luck in order for this option to actually work. The carrier would have to have a cancellation and hopefully be in the same zip code, or at least be close enough to make it worth his/her time and travel. We understood that these things would have to fall into place in order for us to get the vehicle shipped to us at this inexpensive rate. After about a week from originally engaging Corporate Auto Transport, Tara contacted us to see if we were willing to up the price a little in order to increase carrier interest. Understand that Santa Barbara is a little off the beaten path. We agreed to up the price, basically to the "Standard Shipping" rate of $565. As it happened, it did create interest, there was a (timely) cancellation, but the driver needed a little more ($25) in order to pick up at this location. Tara contacted us once again and we agreed to up the price by $25. At that point, the car was picked up (within an hour) and was on its way. Adding $25 seemed reasonable to us to get the car moving.
After an initial issue with email correspondence, we were completely satisfied with the performance of Corporate Auto Transport, specifically with Tara Neyer. She kept in contact with us using email or phone and we really felt like she followed through right to the end when the vehicle was delivered. Kenger Trucking, who ended up moving the vehicle, was also very professional meaning that they called me two hours before they were going to be at meeting point, and, they were actually there in two hours; what a concept. I would highly recommend using Corporate Auto Transport.
