It's Really My Own Fault for Trusting Them

First off, Brightstar is a broker, NOT a transporter as I later found out. Mistake #1. The transporter that was used is a company called D & D Transport out of Omaha. They are not listed in the national listings, so this is a review of BOTH companies here since Brightstar was the one to hire them for the transport.

We were moving from Nebraska to Arizona and required a transport company to pick up three (3) of our vehicles. We had started to use a company that we had used the year before (and God how I wish I would have just stayed with them...), but money was very tight, so I looked around for a lower price. Brightstar answered my inquiry immediately, got all of the information on all three cars and told me he would call me on Monday (I started the search on Saturday) with a quote. In the mean time, I received literally hundreds of emails from other companies and tons of phone calls. I narrowed it down to Brightstar and two others and waited to see who could meet the best price and move my vehicles when I needed them moved.

Brightstar came out on top for price and constant assurances that the vehicles would be picked up on time. The day before they were to be picked up, I received a voice mail from Brightstar that the driver name and phone number had changed...ok. I called the phone number and was told by the actual transporter that they would be picked up LATE Saturday night. No, no no! I was leaving Saturday to go back to Arizona AND the people who were willing to load the vehicles in our absence (should it not be until Monday) were going to be gone. As it turned out, they did show up around 3:00 PM and the loading went well. We explained to them that we had to make a stop along the way to pick up some other items and would not be back in Arizona until June 25th. Ok.

I received a call while I was still in Wyoming that they were ready to deliver my cars on Wednesday, June 23rd. Um, I'm still in WYOMING. The dispatcher seemed ok and stated that the truck could go on to Phoenix where it would be at an auction and that the truck would then come to me on Friday, June 25th when I arrived back. I told the dispatcher that we would probably be home by 1:00 PM. Ok.

We actually arrived home in the wee hours of the morning on June 25th after deciding to drive thru the night to home instead of stopping. I called the transport company to let them know that I had arrived home and she could send them on up. She then explained that they were still at the auction and it would be a few hours before they started out. I told her I would be home and to let me know when they were on their way. I waited ALL day for a phone call and finally, at about 7:00 PM my time, called the dispatcher. She stated that they were moving the vehicles to yet ANOTHER truck and should be on their way in the morning. Ok...*sigh*

The next morning, I called the dispatcher again. No answer on her cell...I left a voice mail. She didn't answer the call until about 5-6 hours later, stating that the truck was broken down, it would not be repaired that night and even if it was, she wouldn't deliver them on Sunday. Uh-huh. She stated that they would arrive Monday afternoon after the truck was repaired.

It's Monday afternoon as I write this. I spoke to the dispatcher yet again to find out that the cars are being placed on yet ANOTHER truck as the one they are on cannot be repaired in time and that they will be on their way tomorrow. uh-huh. My husband is beyond livid and wants to call the State Police for theft...I'm willing to give them until tomorrow, but only that far and then I will make that phone call to the police myself. I plan to file complaints with any and every consumer agency against both of these companies in their respective states. I have one more vehicle to move out of Nebraska and it's a very safe bet that NEITHER of these companies will ever get anywhere near any of my vehicles again. If you're smart, you'll stay the heck away from them too.
