Good experience

The experience on the whole was very agreeable, and the transaction, pick-up and delivery went pretty smoothly. I did say the delivery was late - it was late for about two hours (said car would come at 8pm, came near 10pm). Still, considering that the delivery driver had actually tried to accommodate my time schedule more flexibly (I could not be at home at the first time window that he specified), I would not take too much points off for that. The service was not the cheapest from the batch of quotes that I'd gotten, but it was pretty standard. The driver called my friend (who released the car in RI) before pick-up, inspected the exterior of the car with her, and she signed it off. It traveled cross-continent for a week, and arrived in CA in seven days. I paid a deposit of a couple hundred dollars just before pick-up via phone credit card transaction, and paid the rest in cash to the driver upon delivery. My only complaint was the state of the car when it arrived. The driver had put my car up at the very front of the second tier, so it had gotten splattered with every single squashed insect and whatnot during the journey. Since the car was delivered at night (10pm) in that dirty state, it was impossible to try to inspect the exterior of the car for scratches or damages. When the next day I tried to wash off the squashed and hardened insects off the entire back of my car (the car had been loaded backwards onto the second tier), it was impossible to scrub it off by hand. In the end I had to employ a professional car-washing company to take off the scum. As for the question if the exterior was really undamaged by the journey - I'm not really sure. I do see a couple of extra scratches, though they aren't too noticeable. I'm too lazy to match them all up with their inspection chart and take anything to task, but if you are really into your car and cringe to see extra scars in it, I shouldn't recommend having your car stowed at the very front of the second tier of the truck. (Not that I wanted it that way.) Not sure if you can have a say in it, but next time I'll be sure to try tell them to store my car somewhere that is NOT the very front. Overall, the process was smooth, Brian was helpful and friendly and available. The one star off is for the dirty state of the car upon delivery.
