Autostar contacted me on about the 10th of December offering to move my 3 vehicles- 2 cars and a motorcycle for a great price. They said they could pretty much get the two vehicles done for cheap and then have the bike thrown in virtually for free. The guy that called asked if my vehicles could be ready to go on the 18th and I said yes- since we were leaving the area on the 22nd. So, I filled out their online form that was immediately emailed to me and promptly paid their broker fee of $250.
I called back on the 18th to find out if they were still looking for a carrier or what and was told they were and that they would call me back as soon as they got one.
The 21st came and I called again to find out what was going on with the transport and again was told that they were still working it. And at this point they explained how the whole system works. And was assured that they would get the vehicle shipped but, in the event I leave the area before they do, I should have someone ready to release the vehicles for me.
The 22nd came and went and we relocated to CA. I called back again to yet another person and was told they are still working on it. So, I asked them at what point do they decide to up the price and they said on the 5th day. So, that would be the next day.
I asked the person I was talking to will they call me so we can discuss the new amount or whatever and they said- if we need to...which made zero sense to me since it is my money they are using to negotiate but, whatever. I said ok and waited to see if they would call. No call. I call them back a day or two later and talked to another person, and they gave me the same standard response- when we get a truck we will call you. I tell them that I want to talk to whoever is working my problem set and they said he was on another line. I told them to have him call me when he was off the phone. They close, no phone call- no email.
I call back the next evening before they close and got no answer. The next day was Saturday and they close early; I called half a dozen times to no answer. I have been trying to reach them for several days now- today is Monday and their switchboard was down. The first time I called I got a busy signal and then a message saying they were experiencing a high volume of calls or something to that effect. The next time I called it said the number is out of service which through me into a slight panic mode so, I tried again and the next time I call get a recording said they were having technical difficulties.
This whole ordeal has been unprofessional- my experience has been horrible as well. When I started contacting other shipping companies, a couple of them had nothing but bad things to say about this company. And I quote, " I see that Autostar has been giving you the runaround" and " I hate this company, they are a bunch of rank amateurs"...I could go on but you get the point. BE WARNED- DO NOT ENGAGE.
I hope this helps.

We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet the contracted terms and conditions in locating a carrier. Even the best of the best have an off day, and unfortunately this was one of the less than 2% of the thousands of successfully completed orders we have done over the years, that was not met with the contracted dates. As per terms and conditions of our contract with the customer, we have issued a full refund. We wish the customer well in the transporting of his vehicles. AutoStar Transport and Logistics.
