Returning customer - Cross-Country BMW Shipment

I am a returning customer with AmeriFreight. This is my second time using their services as a transport broker and have been satisfied with the level of customer service they provide. I needed to transport my old BMW across the country from California to Virginia with a requirement that it not be delivered until after a certain date. I was flexible on the front-end for pick-up and they worked with me to ensure they paired me with a carrier that was able to accommodate my delivery needs. I elected for open transport in order to save some money and the fact that I wasn't too particular about a 17-year-old car getting a little dirty (and plenty of smashed bugs as to be expected). The delivery went smoothly and AmeriFreight called me a few days later to follow-up and make sure it all went well. The original estimate I was given for the shipment was between $900-1200 on the low end and up to $1,600 on the high end. I ended up paying the higher $1,600 figure. I recognize that I was moving during a peak season and because I had certain delivery requirements this may have limited some carriers from bidding on my order. I wasn't too surprised I had to pay a little more, but it would have been nice to have a received a better price. I can at least appreciate AmeriFreight's willingness to get try to get me a good price. There was only one issue I had with AmeriFreight themselves, but it was a relatively minor inconvenience. I was assigned a service agent when I first submitted my request, but at some point, prior to securing a carrier, I was reassigned to a new service agent and no one informed me of the change. The original agent had left the company, so for about a week I was emailing a person that was never going to respond. After a week I reached out on the phone to check and that's when they told me I had a new agent. The did apologize that I wasn't informed of the change and ultimately it wasn't a huge issue because my order and everything was still intact and being processed. My new agent (Kimberly) was still actively working my order and shipment request. It could have been a bigger issue though if something more significant had changed in my order and no one was receiving my emails because of a change in agents. Once I was in contact with Kimberly though everything from then on went smoothly. She was very polite and responsive to all my inquiries. Overall a good experience with AmeriFreight with just a very minor hiccup in communication early on in the process. I’ll likely use them again in the future if I should require it.
