My first experience shipping a car state to state. For me, it went well. For someone new to this, I would recommend reading BBB and other website (as well as this one) consumer comments/complaints etc. prior to contacting a shipper. I did this first, and it was an eye-opener. With no experience, I thought there were auto shipping companies that one might contact, and they would confirm definite pick-up dates (ex. a 3 day window) with you as the customer. It seems rather to be an area of business, where one would contact a broker, who will then arrange with various truckers to pick up your vehicle when it is convenient to the truckers schedule (not necessarily to yours). This is what I learned from reading at BBB & other websites. I was very satisified with the broker I selected, Amerifreight. Josh was the Amerifreight broker who helped me. Josh helped me set a pick-up date, and an original discount price. Through Josh, I received one trucker offer to pick up my car two days earlier than the earliest pick-up date, & giving me just 3 hours to get the car to the pick up point. I was not able to accept this offer as still had 2 more full days to work. No other offers came in, and it was my last pick up day when I decided to raise price $200. Josh was also working to locate Arizona truckers as that was my destination state. This worked, and I received an offer at the new price through Josh from an Arizona trucker (Jack Musial Transport) My car was picked up 2 days after the preferred pick-up day I had given. This was fine, as after reading the BBB reviews, I left slack in my schedule just in case. The trucker was great! He arrived in AZ before me, and kindly agreed to hold the car for me a few days until I could come and pick it up. My car is new, it arrived in perfect condition, not a scratch. I am very satisified, and would recommend Josh, Amerifreight, and Jack Musial if I move again.
