I was quoted $929 to ship my 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution from Wisconsin to California on an enclosed trailer (What a deal!) so I decided to jump on the offer and get my vehicle shipped though them. A few days later, I got a phone call from Freddy stating my car could be picked up within the next week BUT due to location, my vehicle would be transported via open trailer and for the cost of $900.00 cash to the driver and a $100.00 deposit, total of $1,000.00. I agreed to the transportation changes and cost changes.

My car was picked up in a timely manner, I was not notified by Westlake that my vehicle was picked up but I was notified by the company where my vehicle was stored that the car was picked up.

Two days after the vehicle was picked up (April 6, 2017) I called Westlake and asked for an update, I was told the vehicle would arrive within two days of April 10th. Great, that's the exact estimate I was given prior.

3 hours go past (it is now 1pm) and I receive a text that the car will be delivered today, within 2 hours. Early? Excellent! Just in time for the weekend.

4 hours pass, no car. Westlake contacts the driver, driver states the he won't be in the area until 12am. I was not given any notice the vehicle would be arriving that late on a week day. The business I wanted the vehicle shipped has now closed the gates and I have to somehow figure out how to get my car, at 12 am. ( I work first shift, so I was stressing the inconvenience of not getting any sleep waiting for my car.)

Don't worry, the car didn't arrive anyways. I called the driver, he was delayed waiting on response from previous delivery. In which, I completely understand things like this happen and its not the drivers fault one bit, so I go to bed knowing my car will be here tomorrow between 9am and noon according to the driver.

It is now Friday April 7th, 2017 at 11am. I receive a call from the driver that my car will be delivered to an address, 3 and a half hours away! The driver was given the wrong delivery address.

I ask the driver to please deliver to the correct address (I have a contract that has the correct address) and he states he can not deliver to that address without more money... I then get a call from Westlake stating that the car will be stored, 3 and a half hours away, and that I should take a bus to go get it... What?

Westlake apologized for the inconvenience and they refunded me my deposit of $100, I did not ask for a refund, I asked for my car. All I want at this point is my vehicle, I have no idea where it is, no address of where it is or how I'm gong to get it. After Westlake sent back my deposit, they then said the rest of the communication was between myself and the driver. I thought a brokers job was to communicate and help the client? They just backed out and I was on my own trying to figure out how, when, and where I am going to get my car.

I call and ask the driver again to please deliver to the correct address, and we agreed he will bring it to me the next day. Another day goes by, the driver delivers my car on Saturday April 8th. The driver asked then for $1,200 cash for the delivery, or he will keep the car and it will be placed in a lot until I pay in full. The contract stated $900 cash. At that point, being on the spot, I gave the driver the $1,200 cash because my car is my absolute pride and joy, I couldn't let it go again not knowing where it was going to go or how I was going to get it.

The driver showed me his dispatch sheet, which had the wrong address on it and I showed him my sheet with the correct address. This was not the drivers fault for delivering the car to the wrong address so I decided to ask Westlake if I could be refunded my amount (Not a full refund, only refund me equal to my quoted price on the contract, a total of $300) Westlake states, this was the drivers fault he did not stay updated with them and they no longer have a contract with me.

I do not feel this was a customer fault and that the additional funds shouldn't have came out of customer pocket, I gave the correct address, I received the correct address on paper but yet, the car was not delivered to that address for the price written.

I would have given them a one star, but the car was delivered on time and not damaged so I have to give some credit for picking someone who could properly accomplish delivering a car. They will have to work on their communication and customer service skills in the mean time.
