I will admit, this was a learning experience. I had moved several times and thought shipping a vehicle should be no different, contract with a shipper, agree on a date and that's it. I couldn't be more wrong. I contracted with V&C to ship a vehicle across country. I made plans to be available the date agreed upon and no one showed. I made several calls to the company and each time, I was told they would call back in a few minutes. I finally connected with the original agent and was informed they would have a driver the following day. Again, I arranged to have someone available to be available to give them the keys. Again no show. After several attempts, I found a trucking company directly and worked with them to move the car. I had put a $100 deposit down on the original contract. Reality, they could not ship the car for the amount they quoted us.
