I moved with my car from BC to California, and used US Canada Auto Transport to bring it back north to Ontario. It was improperly imported as a US manufactured vehicle instead of a Canadian one and I was not informed of other paperwork and programs I would have to run the vehicle through. It is now 2 months later and I am still filing paperwork trying to get my car properly imported, registered and plated.

Tips for future movers:
- Bring your car across yourself if at all possible.
- If moving to another country get a letter from the manufacturer ahead of time stating its safety compliance in your new country.
- Maintain a copy of your registration/title for every state/province you ever had the vehicle registered in.
- Get a copy of your driver's abstract/record from any state/province you leave, in person, before you leave.
- Get mover's to move your things, move your car yourself. It will be time consuming and expensive, but movers are expensive too and the time and money you spend fixing their mistakes combined with the minor cosmetic damage of an open carrier move, more than make up the difference. Plus if you move yourself, at least you'll have gotten a trip out of it.
