Worse Experience Ever - Do NOT Use!

I will never deal with Stateway Auto Transport ever again and suggest others carefully consider other options before so doing. I started the process one month prior to earliest available date and received confirmation by email and had the $1 charge deducted from my credit card as validation. About one week prior, I phoned twice daily to various numbers at Stateway to pass on some minor changes on pick-up telephone #s and left messages on all those occasions. Never received any calls back. One week later and after my 3 preferred pick-up dates had passed and 1 day prior to flying home, I finally was able to speak to an agent and informed her that I was cancelling my arrangements with them and that I would select another transport company. A couple of hours later, I received a call from Carla, a manager at Stateway, who apologized profusely and could believe the incompetence of Stateway agents. She offered that she had done some quick checking just prior to her call to me and stated that she could have my vehicle picked-up within a couple of days for ONLY $1400 - NEARLY DOUBLE THE PRICE OF THE ORIGINAL QUOTE. I declined the opportunity to take advantage of this scam! I then contacted my second choice and was able to speak to a dispatcher on my first phone call. IT GETS BETTER: After posting an initial review of this experience, I was contacted by owner Rachel who explained the reasons (EXCUSES) for the mishandling of my file. She made promises of future personal care and compensation for the extra expenses I had incurred. Two months later NOTHING has materialized. As a retired military with over 25 moves in my career, this was by far the most dishonest and incompetent company I have experienced. Too bad, as we (and several friends) are yearly snowbirds and were hoping to find a reliable auto shipping company for the next few decades.
