Overall an Extremely Stressful Experience

I had to ship my car from MA to CA. Ship a Car Direct found me a shipper that has only been in business for 6 months. There is no way Ship a Car Direct knows much about this shipper or has much experience working with them. I took a chance but protected myself by putting the entire charge on my credit card even though it cost more than the 'cash' price and there was a 5% credit card processing fee. I also had to pay an extra $50 on top of the quote that was given to me by Ship a Car Direct. I was told it was an estimate and thus not binding. The communication from shipper and Ship a Car Direct 24 hour support was poor. The driver of shipper spoke very little English nor understand when I told him cash is not due upon delivery as I already paid for it on my credit card. Instead, he threaten to not release my car unless I give him $1200 in cash. He ignored the fact that I have a Order Receipt from Ship a Car Direct showing that I already paid the full amount on credit card so it's $0 COD. I had to make numerous phone calls to the 24 hour support and dispatcher trying to resolve this. The dispatcher eventually texted me telling me there was a 'misunderstanding' and I should be all set. I had no confidence at all and was not thrilled about having to meet the driver at night on a main street. So much for Ship a Car Direct's service about picking and dropping car off at your residence. I had to meet drivers elsewhere on both ends. I was able to request to meet driver at a busy intersection close to a police station. The only positive of this experience is my car made it without any damages. I will be sure to inform my colleagues not to use Ship a Car Direct for their corporate moves.
