Late, wish I had more information up front

Everything started great, great communication at first, but then it took days to get a call back whereas early on it was only minutes to hours. I asked if I should ship it early and they said no, but it took an extra week longer for the car to be picked up. Contact said it was due to the time of year, but I wish I had known that it in the first place, I had offered to have the car available to be shipped 7-10 days (before the date she suggested), which would have helped in the end a LOT because I was without my car for over a week and all the stress that goes along with it. I tried to call to get updates but didn't get calls back, I tried to call ANYONE at the company and they said to just speak to my contact person. Who wasn't returning my calls. Eventually I did get a call back, was told due to the time of year no one was shipping and they had to raise the price of shipping the car but it was being taken out of Ship a Car's fees. My initial quote was $1275 but it ended up costing me $1325 in the end. After the car was picked up (was given a pickup date but they actually picked it up a day later), I got updates from the driver and the car arrived 1 day later than he thought he would arrive due to weather. The driver asked me if I could meet him to pick up the car but I told him I didn't have a car to drive to him with (lol) so he dropped the car off to my apartment. Altogether once things were in motion they went smoothly enough, but it was stressful not having my car for so long (my husband was able to carpool to work and we managed to get rides to get groceries, food, housewares etc, but it was definitely a hinderance). BUT, I am glad it arrived safely and it wasn't as bad as other stories I hear where cars are held for months on end. Phew!
