Late Delivery, lack of communication

Let me first say that if my car ever arrives, I will update the review to reflect said delivery. How this company has any kind of positive reviews is astounding. Do you enjoy wasting time and money when it comes to shipping your car? Because if you do, Road Runner Auto Transport is the company for you. I’ll give the abridged version of the saga here, but long story short, my car was supposed to arrive 02/18 after my father had surprised me with shipping the car that I purchased rather than me having to take off work to go get it. I thought that would be fantastic since I work 60+ hour weeks and live over 1000+ miles away. After being told repeatedly all day by the company that it would be delivered by 9PM once the driver contacted me 2-3 hours out, I had to call the driver at 8PM because something didn’t seem right. No And oh boy was I correct. Apparently, the drivers truck had broken down and is stuck in some random parking lot less than halfway to my location. He said he notified the office, and that “it might be faster to just come get it”. Great. I call the office because their office hours online say until 10PM. Well that’s a lie. No one’s there and my call was hung up on twice. I messaged through the customer portal they have l. No answer. I understand things happen and I’m glad everyone was okay, but the complete lack of communication is downright appalling. I call the next morning once they open, and all they can say is sorry and they don’t know when it will arrive. Let me make this perfectly clear- I’m moving and need the car to get to work. Buses don’t run as early as I leave, I’m the first one in the office, and it’s a 2 hour walk. So that’s what I’m left to do because these people can’t give me any information besides “we’re still looking for someone else”. You’re telling me that you only have one driver available? Best part is, because of their “contract”, no matter what, I still have to pay full price. So even if I could go get the car and leave my 2 jobs for a day to finish someone else’s job for them, I would STILL be paying full price. They refuse to budge on that fact since their contract says they are not responsible for any kind of late delivery (just as a heads up for anyone looking to use them). So they can deliver your car as late they went, and you’ll still be out thousands of dollars. It’s a smart business move, but horrible for the customer. Like I said, if it gets delivered I will update my review, and I do not blame the driver for the truck issue. This is entirely on the company itself and their complete lack of any kind of professionalism and communication. So fingers crossed my car gets here at some point because right now I’m don’t see that happening. I’m short, find someone else to ship your car. This company is a joke and at this point; crooks since they have money and my car. Update- might be picked up Thursday. We’ll see Update 2/25- after being told by the manager Michelle that the car was getting picked it, turns out it didn’t get picked up, and I had to contact the previous driver (again) to get an actual answer. So far, this is insane. Their office hours are false as well- no one is there or online to help with questions. Book anywhere else, I’m 100% it’s better than this.

We understand that your vehicle is experiencing delays due to unforeseen circumstances and has been re assigned to a different carrier at this time. Because the location where your vehicle required pick up from is not frequented by our carrier network there was a delay in reassigning a carrier willing to transport your vehicle the rest of the way. We always advise that all dates are estimated and subject to change for reasons just like this and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused you.
