I get that transport can be a tough business, but the first steps in my experience w/ Reliable were so lousy, we never got past step 1. While expensive, figured I'd go with the known reputation. Engaged Reliable via a phone call to John G., the friendly sales rep I'd met at Auburn. Emailed all requested info to the office. No acknowledgement of receipt beyond "out of the office" auto response. Called customer service the next day, rec'd job number and "you're in the system". While I was in no particular hurry, a very loose (3W+) pickup window was quoted verbally. While I did get a verbal "firm" price quote, there was an undefined +/- factor. Asked for written confirmation of the price and time terms & a written quote or agreement - was told nope, no documentation until pickup, "don't worry 'bout it". Gave it a week, called the rep for status, "you're in the system - hey, I'm at lunch, mind if I call you back in an hour?" No return call, no contact, no email, no followup until I cancelled after ten days, specifically requesting a confirm. To that, they finally responded. Wasted 10 days of time. Good riddance, never again. Nice enough folks, but no documentation and zero follow up is a Passport to your customer finding a more communicative carrier.
