What an excellent experience I had with Passport Transport! From the first call inquiring to the conclusion/delivery, it was first-class all the way. John Scharrf at Passport's offices was pleasant, professional and informative with every phone contact. I was given a 3-week window for pick-up (and told up front that the route was not a heavy-traffic one so it was possible it would take longer) and told 2-10 days after pick-up for delivery depending on the route and logistics for the various cars aboard. The car was picked up within 2 weeks and then delivered to me 5 days later! I am also happy to report that Passport's trucker that handled my car, Andy Schmidt, was genial, professional and very efficient. I was impressed with how he handled all of the steps in off-loading my car and took such precise care with the tie-downs and properly stowing them on the racks before he moved my car off the transporter. He shared he does roughly 100,000 miles per year- he's a real over-the-road pro and it showed! He's the kind of guy you want handling your precious merchandise. There were no surprises, no damage and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Passport Transport. I highly recommend them! By the way, before I selected Passport, I filled out an on-line request for estimates - I don't recommend that. I was inundated with about 30 phone calls and emails in the next 36 hours and they were almost entirely "brokers", not actual carriers like Passport. Apparently, they put the contract out for bids to independent truckers, not their own employees and the results can be quite variable. My research revealed some bad stories so I advise using actual carriers with their own truckers, like Passport. I also researched the other carriers in Panorama (the Porsche national magazine). There are 3 that regularly advertise in Panorama. Two were more expensive than Passport and gave longer time estimates for pick-up. The third said they are a mostly east coast service provider and she suggested I call John Scharff at Passport. I am grateful for that referral and am confident you will be, too. To be clear here, I was not offered and I am receiving no compensation/discount/anything of value of any kind for my review. These are just my honest thoughts and my experience with Passport.
