$500 paid on a $350 quote

I wasn't satisfied with Nationwide's service. Originally, I was quoted $350 to transport my car, and a spare engine, for a distance of about 300 miles. I had requested a specific shipment day.

2 days before that day, the quote increased by another $100, so that my originally requested and agreed upon transport date could be kept.

Upon delivery (48 hours after pickup, which I guess is standard despite the short distance), the driver asked for an additional $50 or he wouldn't unload the car. He claimed he didn't know about the spare engine.

In the end, I paid $500 on a $350 quote.

Not to mention that the truck showing up for transport was not what had been agreed upon. Agreed upon was a single car rollback truck, which could back into a driveway.

What showed up was a pickup with a long, 2-car trailer, which had to perilously park on the main road (county highway, heavily trafficked, bad visibility).

At least the transport went well and the car wasn't damaged.

Any attempts to facilitate a refund (I only asked for $50 back, even though I don't understand why the quote went up by $100 two days before shipment) were fruitless.
