I contacted National Transport for the first time and was shipping my first vehicle.. Staff at National were pleasant and we set up the job and I paid in advance. The price was set and pickup date was set. Vehicle was to be delivered to the end of my driveway as I had no trailer to transport it. We live on a well maintained road with easy access from the main byway.
I think the main problem is that the subcontractors that National works with are not vetted well... At least the drivers are not. The delivery companies driver would not answer his phone and I wasted a lot of time waiting on the delivery day and was left hanging. National could not contact the delivery company on any of my 3 calls to them.
Finally I received (2 days late) a text that the delivery person would be coming in the AM on Tuesday the 8th of November. I was given a followup text that he was 1.5 hours away and that he could not deliver the Jeep to the end of my driveway. OK.. I compromised and agreed to meet the driver in 1.5 hours at easily accessible auto service center in town. The driver decided to, instead, drop my vehicle off by the Dairy Queen (a half mile away) in town on a one way street. I was not advised of the change of drop and only found out about it as a response to a text wondering why the driver was over 2 hours late. Bottom line is we got the vehicle eventually.. it was not damaged and is now secure. If you use National Transport, be aware that they let their subcontractors set the rules and if you are dealing with one that is not responsible, you are at their mercy.. Buyer Beware !!
