If I could have rated this move zero stars, I would have. Car interior was damaged (brand new leather seat was scratched so bad that it’s not even repairable) This was probably done by the driver who had to climb in and out of the car because the enclosed trailer they used did not have an escape door in the trailer allowing the driver to use the door to enter/exit. Seat had a bag on it but it was not the factory bag and as I looked the car over on the outside, I did not see the damage on the seat until the driver left. I contacted Montway and they were no help. They actually told me that they do not cover any interior damage. So they can’t help, the driver denies everything and will not help and so I’m left with a 2500.00 repair on a new car with 8 miles when I used a car service who promises white glove service for your car. Please be aware of this issue. No one told me that interior damage is not covered and more importantly, Montway could care less about you and your car as soon as they farm out the transport to any driver around, regardless of how they handle your car. Do not use Montway to move your lawnmower. I’m sure it too will get damaged and then they will come up with an excuse not to help you. This was a terrible experience that I want other to know about. Find another carrier that cares. Ask about damage mitigation and make sure that they will help you rectify any issue you may have with the driver should you have an issue. Montway just bids it out to the lowest offer, Keeps the difference and they moves on. They don’t car about you, your car or helping you should something happen. Shipper beware!!!! Randy D

Hello Randy, I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Damages are not an expected part of the shipping process but they can happen. As a broker, we mitigate this risk with a dedicated compliance team and the most sophisticated vetting in the industry. Please know that the interior of the vehicle is not mandated by DOT (https://www.transportation.gov/) regulation. Thus is not part of the Bill Of Lading inspection process and is thus uncovered by cargo insurance. This is standard for all motor carriers in the auto hauling industry. Montway offers a detailed inspection process on our website at: https://www.montway.com/help-center/pickup-delivery/importance-of-the-bill-of-lading/. It's important to our team that we deliver the best service possible. I apologize again and our team has contacted you to assist further. Please respond to our email or contact us at claims@montway.com. -Rick
