This company is horrible. They sent a driver that did not speak English and, could not drive a stick shift! Yes! That is right! A professional truck driver that could not operate a stick shift car! He could not load my car onto his truck because he could not work a clutch, gas pedal and brake at the same time, so he got frustrated and left my car with the seller I was buying it from in Florida. I contacted Montway and they told me that because my car was "Not Operable" they needed to charge me an additional $500.00 to have a special truck pick it up with a winch. I decided at that point, I did not want to do business with Montway and asked to cancel my order and asked them to refund my $229.00 deposit back to me. After I hired a different company, the new trucking company informed me that Montway did not cancel my order, and still had my pickup order on a network schedule that would make it difficult to get a new driver to commit to my pickup because Montway was already showing that they picked up my car. No new truck driver is going to waste his time driving to pick up my car when another company is showing that they already picked up my car. After 3 days of calling and being lied to and told my order was cancelled (When it was not), I finally talked to upper management at Montway and was assured that the order would be cancelled and that I would receive a full refund of my $229.00 deposit they charged. The following day, I received an email from Montway that they were not going to refund my $229.00 because they "Attempted" to pick up my car. I immediately had my credit card company do a chargeback and dispute the charge. Montway is NOT a company you ever want to work with.

Hello Bob, we apologize for the inconvenience Our terms and conditions state that the customer understands and accepts that they must ensure the accuracy of the shipment. It is imperative that the customer properly informs Montway before dispatch of a carrier. The stick shift issue indicated in your review is not the reason the driver could not transport the vehicle. The motor issues were a much more serious concern. As you, yourself informed that the motor had issues and had instructed the driver to push/pull the vehicle onto their trailer. For a vehicle to be operable it must be able to drive in forward and reverse direction under its own power and steer. During transport, the auto carrier will need to rearrange vehicles on their trailer several times to meet placement and weight requirements. With motor issues, the chance cannot be taken that the vehicle will not be able to move. And if it does become fully inoperable during transport, it has to be considered how the vehicle can be unloaded. The safer option for your vehicle would be to assign a new carrier that has the proper equipment and experience to handle an operable vehicle. This would have an increased cost due to these requirements. You canceled your order with us on the 30th as you did not want to proceed with that option. We can confirm this was processed on the 31st. Our services, per our terms & conditions, are to dispatch a qualified carrier per the customers' specifications of the vehicle. As we have completed that and the customer decided to cancel afterward, a $199 cancellation fee would be applied. Our senior management reached out, but the customer would not allow them to speak. We, therefore, we're unable to communicate the simple solution we execute daily for this type of inoperable transport.
