HORRIBLE customer service and late pickup!

Montway customer service is completely lacking and unprofessional, especially for the price.Upon the day my car was to be picked up, I received a call saying I was lucky because Montway found a driver that could pick up my car that day for transport (I would hope so since that's the day I scheduled over a month in advance). However, it was not a fully enclosed trailer that I ordered (I paid an additional $400 for this option for a grand total of $1849). They did say they could give me a $200 discount for my trouble. I said I wasn't interested, especially since I could have paid $400 less for this exact service and that a $200 discount is not a good deal. The man on the line actually got mad at me. He said I was lucky to get this option since only 20% of trailers are fully enclosed and my pickup location was "remote" (remote being a city of over 80,000 people on a major highway, but 2.5 hrs away from a metropolis). Funny how this info didn't come up when I was booking. Calm and clear I asked when the truck I ordered over a month ago would be arriving. He said he will have to work on it and it would hopefully be within the next 7 days. Really? So let's get this straight, I scheduled an enclosed trailer to pick up my car on a specific date in advance and there was no trouble then, but now I get attitude for a costly service and my car couldn't be picked up on time? Why didn't this get scheduled sooner instead of the day of pick up?

As for the trucking company, the driver was very nice and the trailer was great. I was disappointed that my scheduled delivery time of 6-8 days changed to 12 days at the time of pickup, but I will blame Montway for not giving me accurate info. The driver did have an issue with his truck so delivery was a day and a half late, but I received the car as I had left it.

Please note we estimate assigning a carrier within 1 to 5 business days. Even though our estimations are highly accurate, just over 95%, we still inform customers we can only provide estimated dates. We want our customers to be clear on these terms so they can make any necessary personal arrangements. Our goal is to transport your vehicle, never to inconvenience our customers in any way. Please note that all service dates in the auto transport industry are estimated and cannot be guaranteed due to the dynamic and ever changing driver schedules. Traffic delays, detours, speed limits, weather delays, mandatory rest stops, pickup/delivery client availability delays, weight station checkups, police inspections, truck breakdowns, driver's health issues, are just some of the issues that cannot be anticipated. We understand this is potentially inconvenient for customers. Thus the provided estimated dates could vary by several days. We understand that this caused inconveniences for you and we sincerely apologize, as we try to make sure the transit goes as smooth as possible. The customer’s first available day for pick up was 06/11/2016 the enclosed carrier was assigned on 6/13/2016. The carrier gave the customer an estimated pick up date of 6/15/2016 and an estimated delivery date of 6/27/16. It was at this time when a dispatch notification was sent out via email to the customer which list both the estimated pickup and delivery dates. If this was not a good option the customer could have refused and we would have continued to look for another carrier. Montway most certainly apologizes for the inconveniences.
