Higher cost than quote- pickup and delivery were a mess

The initial scheduling experience with Eddy was fine, except the fact that the final cost of this delivery was $75 more than I was quoted. I would've gone with a different delivery company based on that fact alone.

MPC was not actually the company that delivered my car- it was actually delivered by MGL Auto Transportation. I liked that MGL would text updates, but their driver never showed up during the window we set up on Monday morning. After giving him an extra hour grace period, I contacted them and was later told that I would need to drop off my car at a dealership that afternoon. This would've been fine if they set it up ahead of time, but was annoying when I had just spent my morning waiting for a pickup that never happened.

I arrived during at the dealership during the window of time we set up that afternoon. The driver wasn't even there and the people at the dealership had no idea what I was talking about. I contacted Tina from MGL and she contacted the driver and got back in touch with me to say that the driver would be there in 15-20 minutes and would be meeting me in front of the building. 25 minutes later, I'm standing in front of the building when the driver calls and says he is there in the front of the building (he wasn't). 10-15 minutes later, we finally found each other and began the process of me handing my car over to him.

When I arranged this pickup with Eddy Velez, Eddy had told me that the contents of my car could not exceed 100 pounds, so I made sure I took out all of my heavy boxes of books, but I did have some framed pictures in the back (not exceeding 100 pounds). The driver told me he couldn't take the car with anything in it. I repeated what Eddy told me and at that point, I think the driver felt bad for me, so he agreed to take it and not charge me extra. The original dropoff date was supposed to be Wednesday, but the driver told me he wouldn't be able to drop it off until Thursday. We set up a dropoff point near where I was staying and that was it.

Two days later, I get a call from Tina saying that the driver would be dropping my car off in 2-4 hours (on Wednesday) and that he would be dropping it off across town. Tina called again to let me know when the driver was close, so my ride and I could make it to the meeting location in time. Five and a half hours after Tina initially called me on Wednesday, the driver showed up. After more confusion about where we should meet, we finally met up and my car was fine.

I'm glad to have my car back, but if I knew initially how this would all go down, I would've gone with a company that doesn't contract deliveries out to other companies.
