Superb experience with Pete Reynolds from Mercury

I shipped my 2013 Equinox from Illinois to California and my agent at Mercury was Pete Reynolds. In short, they give me the lowest price and the best experience. Will definitely use Mercury again for my next potential car shipping. This is my first time shipping a car in the US and I have heard of a lot of intimidating stories about how the business can be. I was also indeed overwhelmed by all the phone calls from brokers after I filled some online quotes. Pete didn't call me. Instead, I called them based on the online quote Mercury provided. Pete and Mercury did a very good job explaining things. Of course, all brokers will try to explain to you, typically, why they charge you so much (which are just excuses). What's different with Pete and Mercury is that they explained how the market works and, why they're charging me less. They told me explicitly how much they take, and how much I need to pay to the truck driver. Another broker from Shiplux tried to ask $500 more than Mercury, claiming that Shiplux gives the best quality of service while other brokers like Mercury are playing the low-ball trick, which is obviously not the case after I had my car shipped to California within 3 days and the original low price Mercury promised. It also seemed that the broker from Shiplux even secretly posted my autoshipping request on Central Dispatch without my permission, although they didn't admit it; they even turned angry when I asked them to pull off their post from Central Dispatch. In terms of my shipping experience with Mercury, Pete was giving me an update (about whether they had found a truck or not) starting from one week before my first available pick-up date. A truck was assigned to me a couple of days before my first available pick-up date, and my car was picked up the next day of my first available date, which is earlier than my expectation. I was also able to receive my car 3 days after that, even if it's a trip from Illinois to California. The truck driver was also very friendly and trustworthy, based on my experience with them. So overall, my experience with Pete and Mercury has been great and way better than my expectations.
