My experience with Jim Gozde was a NIGHTMARE. I could not even give him one star. Like many reviewers here, I got bids from multiple brokers. Jim's was fair and he had good reviews so I decided to go with him. He explained the shipping process to me and said if I was flexible, contact him and I could name my own price. So that is what I did only to be rebuffed for penny pinching and that the name your price option was only good "if" I was in a major city. In hind sight, being the rules had changed and that I sensed something was fishy I should have gone with another shipper then but his many star reviews were good so I signed the contract for a guaranteed price. Then I get a phone call from Jim, he found a truck...but the price was now only $150 more than his initial price. I told him I would wait till he found a truck for the price we had agreed on. I called my second broker choice and asked them if their guaranteed price changes. They said NO. Jim's e-mail messages said there was no cancellation fee so I asked him about it. As expected, the rules changed again and now there was a fee for cancellation "if" he hadn't contacted a truck yet which he hadn't so I told him I wanted to cancel. By this time we had had a heated discussion on the phone in which he hung up on me. He then calls me back and we had a conference call with the trucking company but the price was still $150 over what he originally quoted so when I reminded him of that, he again hung up on both of us this time. The trucking company called me later to apologize. Also during that call with the trucking company I was told although they had insurance, it would not cover windshield damage. Jim then e-mailed me a message saying they cancelled my order then shortly afterwards I got another message saying he found a truck for only $30 more than his initial quote. I replied that I accepted his cancellation being he could not find a truck for the original quote. I called my second choice broker TRUTHFUL TRANSPORT and talked with Nicole. She again assured me the quoted price was the price and it would not change and the drivers they use their insurance does cover windshield damage. So I signed a contract then had a suspicion so checked my Credit Card Account. Sure enough, the rules with Jim had changed again and he did charge me $25 cancellation fee which I have called in to dispute. Now, I have taken some time to read some of these raving reviews which I should have done initially but relied on the star ratings. Is what I am not surprised to see is that many have said they paid higher than the initial fee and assumed that is the way it works. Folks, I hate to say it but you got conned. There is no reason the fee should have changed. Jim Gozde is a CHARLATAN. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing unless you don't mind paying more than the quoted price. I should have gone with TRUTHFUL TRANSPORT from the beginning. Their name says it all.
