After a competition among 6 brokers using one of the on line pop up sites- we chose Mercury based on very prompt follow up and apparent openness. The proof of a company isn't when things are going well its when things go badly how do they respond. Mercury met that test today.

After a bad delivery- Matthew S the owner of Mercury- came to the rescue... He's giving us some financial credit for the late delivery and combative attitude exhibited by the driver on delivery. Mercury are under NO contractual obligation to do that but Matt stepped up.

While I had hoped for a more timely response from the our original Broker- Jim, its comforting to note that the owner takes a serious interest in his reputation and has compensated us to an extent that we are content.

Facts. We shipped a 2013 Honda from Houston to Savannah on 26 May to my 86 YO mother, a trip of 996 miles, with up to 300 pound overweight to be delivered no later than 8 AM, 31 May, 2016. We paid $175 extra for the quick pick up and delivery. In "Theory" its 5 days to make a 2 day drive for a small open three car carrier.

Essentially - late pick up and very late delivery by Driver- Corner Stone transportation LLC US DOT 2014021 Mr Roderick Jackson - late delivery caused delays in scheduled mechanical work, move in for my 86 YO mom and offloading crew at receiving end. Driver received 50% cash upfront.

I might go back to Mercury on my next car shipment later this summer- but I'll be sure to ask for Matt as my Broker.
