My motorcycle was damaged during shipping- the documentation is clear yet Hawaii Car Transport has not honored their guarantee.

I shipped my car and motorcycle from Hawaii to Jacksonville, FL, using Hawaii Car Transport. Prior to contracting with them, I was told that I would be able to track my vehicles during shipping and that they would be able to meet my desired delivery dates. Of course, that was not the case. During shipping, it was difficult to get in contact with someone to find out where my vehicles were and when they would be delivered. Moreover, they acted like I was crazy to think that my vehicles would be delivered by a particular date. But the reason for the 1-star is the damage to my motorcycle. According to the contract, my motorcycle was covered for up to $10,000 for any damage that occurred during shipping. I took delivery of the motorcycle in Jacksonville three months ago. It had $1800 in damage that occurred during shipping: broken clutch lever, broken front brake lever, scraped front fender, damaged white wall on front tire. This was a clear cut claim for damage during shipping because when I dropped the bike off for shipment in Hawaii, it was in like-new condition and the inspection report recorded no damage. However, they have continued to delay my claim week after week with the same story - "awaiting documentation" from the companies that they contracted out to for the shipping. Bottom line is, if you think you may want to get reimbursed for damage that occurs to your vehicle during shipping, choose a different company.
