At the time of the agreement the car was to be transported for a total of $550 (no additional charges). Without my knowledge the company entered into another agreement with another transporting broker for $550; with the intentions of not returning or applying the $100 deposit that I provided them with on 3/24/21 at the time of the agreement being signed. I received an email from the company on 3/30/21 advising me that they have found a contractor to transport my vehicle for pickup on that day but there would be another $100 added to the original quote; in which I informed them via phone that I would not pay any additional fees than originally quoted so they do not need to pick up the car. Shortly after stating No and not agreeing to the Price Increase I receive a Text and call from the Other Broker (in which I did not know was the other Broker that the original Broker entered into an agreement with that they were outside to pick the car up (I was under the impression that the second Broker (see text message screen shots) was the truck company; not broker). I explained to her (the second broker) that I would not agree to the Price increase and do not want them to transport the car if extra money was involved. She assured me that they would not charge me extra and that they would get the money from the Original Broker that I signed the agreement with and paid the Deposit to (Elite Autoshipping Inc.). The Driver that they sent spoke little to no English so I had to call the second Broker who advised it was of for him to take the car at the agreed price and he would be paid once the car was delivered to the destination. I explained that the car was being transported to my 16 year old daughter in Kentucky as a surprise so I needed to pay him now since I would not be there to pay upon deliver. The driver informed me (in his broken English) that he could not take credit cards but could only take Cash. I went to the bank and gave him $460.00 cash since the ATM would only issue out $20 (which would have given him a $10 tip) based off the agreed price. Once the car got to Louisville, he refused to unload it or turn over the keys until I paid him an additional $90.00 (since they contracted for $550, I gave him $460 cash, and the Original Broker – in which I gave a $100 deposit to via this CC; did not give them anything). I then had to provide an additional $90.00 to the Driver just for her to get the keys and the car unloaded. I contacted the Original Broker (Elite Autoshipping Inc.) on 4/1/21 to request the $100.00 back since I did not agree to the price increase and the fact that they did not give it to the transporting company; in which I could not get my car until he was paid the additional money after taking the car from me and the Second Broker stating that I would not have to pay any additional (who I did not find out was another Broker until reaching out to them upon the delivery of the car to find out why the driver would not release the car without the demand of the extra funds). Elite Auto now wants me to sign another agreement accepting responsibility for rate increase and pay another deposit before they would refund the $100.00 deposit even though the car has already been delivered.
