CARTUS contracted with DAS to ship my vehicle. A week after pickup I got a call indicating my vehicle had been severely damaged. I have gotten nothing but misdirection, deliberate delays and indifference. My car was brand new when I shipped it...do yourself a favor and do not trust any car you care about to these weasels.

Initially I was told that a tree branch had fallen on my vehicle. The vehicle was only 2 hours from the pickup location when they called. The vehicle was unloaded from the truck for inspection. I directed DAS to not move the vehicle, but to leave it right where it was at so that I could have it investigated. I assumed that my directions to leave the vehicle would be followed. I called the next day to inquire about the vehicle and I was told that it had been loaded up on the truck and headed for Utah per management decision!!! I was furious.

I finally convinced them to turn the vehicle around, but by that time it had made it to Dallas. It took forever to get the vehicle back to South Carolina. The repair estimate is around $7000.00. DAS has assured me that they are going to pay for repairs, but after reading the comments on this site I am extremely concerned that they will not. Erin Almand did tell me that I would have to deal with the cost of repairs on my own if I did not fully submit to their release of liability. This company has been just awful to deal with. For brevity I have excluded a lot of the details, but it has been a customer service nightmare.

When I finally saw the damage it was obvious that a tree branch did not "fall" on the vehicle. The front to back direction of scratch marks clearly indicated that the vehicle struck a fixed object while the truck was in motion. DAS' story changed a bit when I mentioned that little detail.
