On 30 April, after a failed attempt to have another shipper (underbid the job and couldn't find a driver to take it and after trying for 3 weeks, didn't want to admit they underbid it - bad selection on my part) get my vehicle from Southern California to Central Maine, I contacted Coastal Auto Transport Co. to handle the job. I was short on time at this point as I was to leave California on 11 May and I wanted the car there when I arrived.

This was the first correct move I made!

Meghan's communication with me was great. She called me to update me EVERY time she had promised to (with the previously attempted shipper I needed to initiate EVERY contact because they NEVER called back when they promised to). She worked very hard to find a driver to take my car (at a cost only about 30% higher than previous shipper quoted). This shipper was priced about mid range ($890 to $2200) of all the quotes I received (about 15 received). But, they were the only one in the midrange area that is all 5* ratings!!! The 5* rating is why I selected them as the second attempt to ship the vehicle.

Meghan was also very straight forward about the conditions of my shipment. She pointed out that it would be easier to get a driver to take the shipment to a large city (like Portland, ME than a small one of population 5,000). This fact required me to arrange omeone on the Maine end to drive about 2 1/2 hours to pick up the vehicle, but that was worth it to ensure the vehicle arrived there before I did.

She was also very apologetic when the delivery did not come off as scheduled (no fault of the driver or shipper or me - traffic and road work delayed the driver on another delivery friday evening (mine was originally scheduled for 9 p.m. friday evening) so they had to wait to make that delivery saturday a.m., then 1 1/2 hour drive to Portland.

All together I think Meghan and Coastal Auto Transport Co. did an excellent job and should be used by anyone that is on a tight schedule or anyone looking to ensure they are kept well informed of the process.

Thanks once more Meghan - you deserve a pay raise!
