Received emaciated horse with chipped teeth late!

Brook Ledge came recommended and I paid top dollar expecting top level service, but transport with Brook Ledge turned into a nightmare. My horse left carrying extra weight then arrived 3 days later emaciated with chipped teeth much later than promised. He dropped a huge amount of weight in their care! I was told he would be held over in Lexington for 1-12 hours, but they ended up keeping him overnight so closer to 24 hours. They made a big deal about me having a bundled bale of hay for him to eat along the trip to be sure he was getting hay he is accustomed to so I went to the trouble to get a bundled bale, but the bale arrived unopened. My sweet horse had to be on 3 different trucks during the three days of transport with them. This didn't make it any easier on him.

I tried to talk to them about all of this with Brook Ledge and I was referred to their credit manager who was rude and defensive and even accusatory towards me claiming the driver is one of their best and has been with them a long time. That may be true, but my horse suffered in their care and they did not follow through on the things they said. He had no openness to hearing the truth about my experience let alone any willingness to make it up to me in any way. They clearly think they are in the right no matter what and the customer comes last with Brook Ledge. I will never use them again.
