I requested a quote for transporting my car from Cincinnati to San Francisco on 12/24/19. Within minutes, I received quotes from about 10 companies including AutoStar. Sean Hancock from AutoStar also called me that same day and told me they could pick my car up with 2-3 days notice. After a few days of reading reviews, I signed an agreement with AutoStar on 12/28 for a quoted price of $895. I made my $150 deposit and told them the car would be ready for pickup on 1/6/20. Long story short, they didn't pick my car up until 1/13/20, 16 days after I signed the agreement and 7 days after I said it'd be ready for pickup. Throughout the week of 1/6/20 I kept calling Sean asking him when the car would get picked up. He never answered his phone or returned my calls. I also called customer service and whenever I could talk to a live body, all I would hear was "we're trying to find a carrier". No dates, no commitments, nothing but false promises. I then offered to pay another $205 on 1/8/20 thinking that would surely get more attention. Of course Sean got right on it and had me sign a revised contract for $1,100 then he went radio silent again. Finally after upping the quote to $1,100 and 5 more days of waiting, my car was picked up on 1/13. All during the time between 1/6 and 1/13, I had multiple companies contact me saying they could pick up the car the next day, but I had already given AutoStar my $150 deposit. Customer Service at AutoStar is terrible. Gus was the only one who at least tried, and Sean, my "Transport Coordinator" was non-existent after I signed the contract and they pocketed my deposit. I have no problem with the carrier who finally picked it up, they delivered it yesterday as promised. The problem I do have is with AutoStar. Take my advice and pick someone else, don't only go with the lowest quote. You'll just end up paying more anyway. Better yet, find a transport company that has their own fleet and drivers so you don't get the excuse "we're still trying to find a carrier".

Our sincerest apologies a suitable carrier was not located sooner to meet customer’s satisfaction. We located and assigned a carrier within the contracted time frame. It is quite common that brokers and customers alike are subjected to sharp increases in carrier market prices from the time an order is booked in advance, until the time the vehicle is ready to be shipped. In this case, customer was asked to pay additional funds, as well as we did. AutoStar Transport Express allocated all their funds on this order to make up the increase in carrier price, and hence made nothing on this order. Again, our apologies for the slight delay of 3 days to find a carrier. We wish the customer well.
