After receiving offers from numerous transporters I was taken in by the "we have our own drivers" and "we give you real service and are not just finding an external driver" pitch. (This is obviously this company's selling point since I could hear the same words being spoken in the background by another agent.) So, I paid an extra $200 above other quotes for this supposed "better service". Let's start with the upside. The car was picked up and dropped off in adequate condition (I washed it prior to pick up and it was dirty as hell - but it went 2500 miles on a truck, so I guess I should expect that). The driver was polite and called in advance to give me time to get to the drop-off location. When there was some confusion caused by another service calling me we were able to clarify it quickly. Unfortunately, that confusion was caused because the driver who supposedly belonged to this business did not mention my agent's name, nor even mention Transport123. This makes me wonder whether they really are "their drivers." Anyway, the car was picked up on time and conveniently on a Monday as requested. Let's get to the part where it made no sense to pay the extra money. I was told that it would arrive on a Friday, and I arranged to take work off that day to receive it. I also was assured that I could alter the drop-off location by about 20 miles since I was currently moving from temporary to more permanent housing further away. So the driver calls me on Wednesday and says he will be there on Thursday. He also says there is no way he can drop it off Friday and that it also has to be dropped off in the city of San Francisco. He had absolutely no idea that this arrangement had been made. Once again, he was polite about it and flexible on the drop-off location in the city, but keep in mind, I just started a new job and I paid for THEM to be flexible - not me. Lastly, I just have to wonder why my gas tank was down 1/8 of a tank. I filled it up to the brim before i left and there were at least 3-4 gallons burned (on a car that gets at least 25 MPG). I wish I had checked the mileage before I left. Since I was likely one of the last stops, and it was parked near the cabin when the driver arrived, I find it hard to believe it was necessary to drive my car on and off so many times that it burned that much gas. So either it was driven around or simply left running for an extremely long amount of time. All told, there was no "extra service" worth paying more. I am not recommending these guys. I don't see how they are any better than a service that just helps find a driver.
