Disappointment and Frustration

I recently used AutoTransport 123 to ship my car for a big move across several states. When I initially spoke to them, I was pleased with the quality of customer service that I received. I had received several cheaper quotes to ship my car from other companies but I ultimately decided to use AutoTransport 123. I chose them for the following reasons: 1) they guaranteed that my car would be picked up within the timeframe I needed, 2) gave me a small discount (even though the price was still higher than other quotes I had received) and 3) guaranteed that the price would not change (which It did not thankfully). After I signed the contract, my experience with this company went downhill. I had to call several times to get an update on the status of my car being assigned a carrier and pickup date and time. When my car was finally picked up, it was not picked up on time. It was picked up later than the timeframe that I had provided which made me delay my moving plans. When I spoke to the driver the day before he picked up my car, he told me that someone from AutoTransport 123's dispatch team had told him that I would leave my car keys for him in the mailbox. I never told that to anyone at the company so it was odd and concerning to me that the driver received incorrect information. I raised these issues to two people at AutoTransport 123 after the car was delivered to me and neither of them ever followed up with me to resolve it. In a phone conversation with them (prior to signing the contract) and in the contract itself, I was told that I could store personal belongings in the back seat and trunk of my car. However, when the car was picked up, the driver said he did not allow personal belongings to be put in the back seat of the car but he made an exception for me at that time. I do not know why I was given conflicting information regarding packing personal belongings in the car. Thankfully, my car was delivered on the expected day and the driver was courteous and polite, so those were the few positive aspects of the experience. The most frustrating part of this whole experience is that I was guaranteed a pick up window for my car (as in the car would get picked up by a certain date) and I made my moving arrangements contingent on this guarantee. That guarantee was not met which was stressful and inconvenient for me. When I mentioned that I had been guaranteed a certain pick up time frame and it had not been met, the response i got was "Things are kind of fluid around here." That response conveyed a lack of empathy to me as well as a sense that I could not trust the information that I was given. I felt deeply displeased with how I was treated and I do not plan to use this company again. Also, I would not recommend them to anyone.

We truly apologize you were having difficulties getting updates on the Vehicle shipment - we do allow you to place 100lbs in the trunk of the Vehicle as a courtesy. We are happy you received your Vehicle in a timely fashion. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, and to make your move as simple as possible. Hopefully in the future you will reconsider using our services again. Respectfully, Auto Transport 123.
