Over-Promise, Under-Deliver

The Broker ASG failed to meet expectations. I should have simply gone straight to a transporter such as Safe Auto Transport, JP Logistics, Intercity, etc. Go direct instead. Some Metrics: 1. Pickup: ASG Over-Promised with 1-3 days, Under-Delivered with 10-days 2. Transport: ASG Over-Promised <4-5-days, Under-Delivered with 9-days 3. Communication: ASG Over-Promised updates by certain times, then Under or even Never Delivered without my consistent follow up. In addition to the almost 20 days it took to pickup and deliver my car from Boston to San Francisco, multiple times ASG promised updates by a certain time then failed to deliver until I followed up with my contact. Each time ASG had a reason that Safe Auto Transport was unable to meet the time frame that ASG quoted, including "it must be a new driver", "this has never been a problem", "I yelled at them" for you, "I'll talk to the owner", and "I'll get you reimbursement". Safe Auto Transport never had a record of the promises made by ASG. When I complained to ASG, suddenly my contact was quiet and never responded. I never once received a follow up on my complaints, nor did I receive any sort of compensation for ASG's poor service. The ability to facilitate transport and resolve problems - mind you - is a selling point I was given, but again ASG failed to deliver. Had I simply gone with one of the transport companies directly - which I did not do despite opportunity because I was assured all was fine - then I would have received my vehicle much sooner. As a result it cost me more money to ship through ASG and the shortened ability to register the car by the CA DMV's deadline cost me even more money in fines. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, check the cargo insurance of the carrier before agreeing to transport. I was told $1M in cargo insurance was much higher than most transporters would carry, which means that if your car and the other cars on the transport exceed that value you could be left holding the bag. Safe Auto Transport was able to provide $1M, and ASG assured me this was more than enough and fine, but when the transport arrived there was easily over $1M in cars on the truck still. The companies I mentioned above such as JP Logistics have $3M, Intercity $5M, Go2Transport $5M, Reliable +$5M, etc. so this explanation provided by ASG seemed like another bogus excuse for delays in my transport. Thanks a lot, Leo & ASG! The silver lining here is Safe Auto Transport did *eventually* deliver my car without any damage whatsoever and the driver was nice.
