I contracted with Auto Shipping Group to transport my vehicle after doing what I thought was a thorough question and answer over multiple phone calls with Kimberly Freiley, VP of International Training at ASG. Throughout my communications I was assured that ASG only dealt with reputable transport companies, and that my vehicle would be fully protected and Insured by the transport companies that they contract with to move my vehicle. So I chose this company to ship my 2004 Hummer. When my vehicle arrived it was well after dark and with little visible light to inspect my vehicle for possible damage, I still walked around the trailer it was being unloaded off of to see if there was any obvious damage I could discern. Unfortunately, and unnoticed by me, above my sight line as the vehicle was still on the trailer, the mounting support and third brake light was completely missing. As soon as the driver/shipper drove the vehicle off of the trailer I paid for the service and asked for a receipt. He said he did not have a paper receipt but he could send me a receipt to my email (I have never received that receipt). He asked me for my email address and then handed me the phone to confirm by signature the vehicle was delivered, so he said. With that done I moved my vehicle to a parking space and walked back to where the trucker/shipper had been. However, by the time I returned, he had already left. The following day I took the vehicle to a hand car wash and it was the then, as I was washing the roof area where the third brake light was mounted, that I saw a broken wire sticking up from the roof body. Then I realized that the whole mounting support and the third brake light was gone. I immediately contacted Auto Shipping Group and informed them of the damage. Thereafter I contacted the driver/trucker and asked what happened. I was told that it must have been blown off by the wind (yeah right) but that he would pay for it. I was agreeable to that and went and procured an estimate. However, other than giving me his email, I never heard back from the driver again, even after multiple texts and emails. and several attempted calls. So now I turned for help from the transport broker, Auto Shipping Group. It was through them that I was able to get the insurance company info necessary to file a claim. After contacting the insurance company I was ultimately and several days later told that the Insured Driver/Trucking company had a $5,000 deductible and therefore they would not be handling my claim. WHATTT !!! since when does an insurance company refuse a liability because their insured is under insured?? That has nothing to do with me. So, I contacted ASG, who had seemed to be very helpful up unto that point, but now simply said "their isn't much we can do about it". So, as to ASG, they will tell you anything to get your business, then if there is a problem, you are on your own, or so they say. There is the matter of their lability for possible fraud as they advertise themselves as using confirmed reputable and fully inured trucking companies, to entice you to contract with their business, and that is clearly is not true. Beware, If you contract with ASG you are dealing with a company that is just as disreputable as the trucking companies and drivers they sell you on, in their business.

Kimberly@Autoshippinggroup.com 360-200-6854 CALL, TEXT OR EMAIL ME FOR A FREE QUOTE. I HAVE BEEN WITH OUR COMPANY 13 YEARS NOW! A+ ACCREDITED! John, Let me address some of these things. First our job is the broker is to find you a reputable carrier, and have your vehicle transported and assist if there are any issues. Which I have done 100%. You did not note damages on the inspection report which you are told to do. You then tell me the driver is telling you they are going to pay you out of pocket and you have proof via text that he is willing to do so. Third, I did provide the insurance to you as soon as you requested it and as soon as we found out you had this issue. We provide the insurance but cannot assist you in the actual claim as this is your vehicle and it was in the carriers possession not ours. We did not do the damage and therefore are not responsible. The carriers deductibles do differ depending on their coverage just as yours and mine are probably different. Damages have to be over the deductible for the insurance to get involved just like your own insurance. If you have 100 in damages but your deductible is 250, the insurance isn't going to cover that unless you pay the deductible. Same thing with the carrier. My suggestion is you go to your insurance company since you based on the costs you've sent me, you have them fix it and then have them go after the carrier since you state you have proof that they were going to cover the repairs. I have done nothing but help you in this, and my customer service is surely 5 stars. You are only rating this low because of the situation. I have apologized that there is nothing else we can do because we cannot file a claim for you, or make the insurance company get involved if its under the carriers deductible. So you are correct, there is not much else we can do, we have put the carrier on our black list, we have provided you all the information we have on the carrier. The rest unfortunately is between you and the carrier as you signed their bill of lading stating there was no damage, and then have been in communication with that carrier since. We have done all that we can do.
