Total cost was misleading, big jump from "estimate" quote. Quoted by email $810, but a brokerage + admin fee = $190 was quite startling. Delivery and follow-up was unprofessional. Delivery was 2 days early, and notification from shipping company occurred at 11pm, for a 12-2pm delivery time. Quite inappropriate to contact at 11pm for a short turnaround time- as I had anticipated a day before or after the "estimated" date, was unavailable due to a prior commitment, the shipping company did not offer any alternative solution or pickup time. In addition, the pickup location was over 12 miles away from the stated address and having used another auto shipping company in the past, I know that this was way far and more than inconvenient. Contact person offered a 3pm, when I told him, I will try to arrive earlier (if I could leave my appt earlier), his response back was that I was "playing a waiting game." Very rude, inappropriate, unprofessional and unacceptable communication towards a paying customer. Naturally I was furious. When I contacted the Auto Shipping Group rep, she responded by saying there was nothing she could do, that's how the industry is, and even argue with me. She even said that I had "threatened" her, that was completely egregious since I only told her that I thought the customer service was "unprofessional and unacceptable," how is that a "threat!?!" The fact that she was arguing that the contracted shipper, Cypress, was not an employee of Auto Shipping Group and not viewing a vendor as an extended representation of the company if really a poor view of seeing through customer service from beginning to end.

When I arranged for my partner to pick up the car, the driver was immediately exasperated, rolled his eyes and gave attitude when I had to get additional payment. Considering the short turnaround, that we were both at work, rushing and trying to beat traffic/accident on freeway to get to the far away location, we were prioritizing getting to the location since the shipping company gave an ultimatum that our car would be stored in Baltimore, which would have been 45 miles away. The driver also thought it was appropriate to yell and make threats. In the end, relieved to get my car, but as a customer, I shouldn't have to relieved to get the service I paid for. Do not recommend.

Gary, I am sorry you felt that the service was horrible. However, I did mention to you the day of placing your order how this industry works and the notices you can get when a carrier is on his way on 08/16/2016 @ 2:12pm PST, Dispatched the same day for pick up within the dates you requested. We clearly let our clients aware that the drivers typically call the night before or early morning before pick up and delivery to arrange specific time frame. I did express to you that I as well thought 11pm at night was a bit late which I talked to the carrier about and mentioned to you that they also agreed to that as there was a bit of misunderstanding with driver and dispatcher. When dispatch was aware a call was not given he called at that time. They did provide more than 12hr notice prior to delivery and a 2 hr window of their arrival time and that they would call when they got closer, they stated to me that you told them it couldn't work until 2pm-2:30pm the latest so they went ahead and changed their timing said they would arrive around 2pm. Then you told them well I might not get there til after 3pm after they tried working with you. When you texted me the morning of the delivery that this was not OK and proceeded to say I am going to make sure no one uses your company and will make it known before giving me a chance to try and assist you with the issue is when I took that as a threat from you. I was not at all mean or upset with you. However, I cannot force a driver to wait hours to deliver due to the other 8 cars and clients that are also waiting on delivery. I also stated travel time is a estimate and carrier can arrive in between 7-10 days after pick up. Which they were within those dates. The reason the carrier couldn't get to your door was because of the restrictions in MD per the DOT Laws. Again I am sorry for the inconvenience as I have mentioned before, there are however things that are out of our control. Now if we had a date restriction on your order prior to dispatch then this wouldn't have been any issue and I would have a leg to stand on. But a driver also cannot read all our customer plans or schedules. I also NEVER argued with you at all. Below is our conversation via text: Stephanie, after all the back and forth i choosing auto shipment company, I thought I had chosen a reputable broker and shipment company. Your choice of shipper decided to notify, at 11pm, the night before to pick up my car at a location 10 miles away from my residence. Unfortunately, I had a prior commitment that I could not move, and I was presented with no other option. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I'm actually curious about this, and will be sure to voice my displeasure to as many people who will listen and not sign up with auto shipping group. I have 2 other cars to move and will pursue an alternative.....my reply: Gary, I apologize for the inconvenience. However, I do not have access to control all the drivers out there. They know that they are to provide updates to the clients as they approach the customers, however not that late in the evening. Example: Its just like having a employee working for you and they do not follow procedures which could cost them their job, which will cost this company not to either get any further business with our company now that we are hearing feedback like this from our client or they are suspended until they can prove their ability to follow common procedure. I do know that in MD there are many restricted areas for the large trucks so this could be why they need you to meet them. If they get caught in a restricted area for his truck they will get a huge ticket or fine. Client Response: That's not an excuse for not knowing ahead of time, calling me the late night before, only giving me a very limited time window to pick my car up at the last minute. It's even 2 days earlier than the estimated date, and I was planning what to do for that date since I was going to be out of town. This is not an inconvenience, it's unprofessional and shows how these "non-employees" are not vetted or trained properly on business etiquette. Had I known it would be this way, I would have driven myself across country myself. I'm not even sure if I'll get my car today since I realize the shippers didn't contact me until I had to contact you, but I will be making arrangements for my other cars and properly warning my relocating groups to be weary of shipping their own cars.......As you can read you are also typing ESTIMATED, Not every client will be 100% satisfied. you mention later in a text that if it was only a day sooner or after it would have been better. However, Many other clients its the other way around about receiving it on time and as soon as possible unless a date is provided the vehicle cannot arrive before. AGAIN, so sorry this was not to your standards of service.
