BAIT AND SWITCH!!! Jorge send me a number of emails and calls. I get on the phone with him and he says my rate to transport my car from San Diego, CA to Atlanta, GA would be $1050. I said ok, he tells me that I need to pay $150 deposit and then pay cash, cashier's check, or money order when the car arrives. That should have been a red flag to me, but I haven't done this before and just have been extremely overwhelmed with my move. Today, the day before American Auto Transport is supposed to be picking up my car, I get a call from Jorge. He lets me know that their truck broke down and now it's going to cost me $150 extra to have someone come pick up my car tomorrow. I ask him, "How is that my problem?" Jorge starts to stutter and then lets me know that it's going to be an additional week to come and get my car. We get off the phone and I'm already upset because it's not my fault their truck broke down, and to be honest I should be getting discounted for them being late now due to their own truck's complications. Then, about 10 minutes go by, and another employee from American Auto Transport calls me to let me know that it's now going to be $200 for a new driver to come pick up my car tomorrow. At this point, I'm livid. I had just gotten off the phone with Jorge and how unprofessional of them to have someone else call me back and then RAISE the price on pickup. This company is a total scam AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS
