I initially reached out to Amerifreight as I had heard about them through a military blog on a Facebook page at my gaining unit. I trusted that the recommendations there would be the best option. My primary goals of the shipment were to choose the safest, most cost-effective, and most stress-free means of transporting my second vehicle to Hawaii. The initial contact I had with the Amerifreight was positive, the agent had the best pitch and frankly laid everything with the best possible quote. The first negative bump in the road was when the only option for transporting my vehicle was a price nearly $400 dollars over the quote I received. I was quickly reminded (in the fine print) that prices can always be over the quote, just doesn't seem honest with me as the customer. It would have been one thing If I simply paid one lump sum, to all companies involved, and then signed my documents and expected my car to reach the destination. I felt like I was the logistical coordinator for this whole thing, this was by far the most stressful process of moving to another state. The freight truck came to a random intersection 2 miles from my house (not door to door as advertised) at 2AM! The same day of my flight 4 hours later! I emphasized it a number of times that I needed the car shipped out earlier but I wasn't helped. As soon as the first payment went to Amerifreight, I got the feeling that there was no more effort to help me logistically with the rest of the transportation ("sorry but you're gonna have to call so-and-so"). Then, when the car arrived in California, there was a whole new set of problems that I had to go out of my way to solve. As the subject of the reviews eludes to, my expectation when I shell out nearly $3000 dollars to ship a vehicle, I'm expecting a top-notch, stress-free service, both factors of which were not met. I will be sure to steer others in the military towards another means of transportation in the future.
