After purchasing a 4 runner from a private lot in PA I contacted Amerifrieght for some quotes on shipping. My dealer said I could ship for about $1500 so I told him I would find a shipper.Amerifrieght had a low up front online estimate of $950 so I called them. They were up front and said it was Not A Guaranteed Price and it depended on offers from the drivers.Well the first offer was over $1400 and I called them and said "Look" I just paid $9500 cash for a car I don't want to pay over $1100 to ship it back.Well ,she said it probably wouldn't be that low...(Why Not, your online add estimates $950..!)So I waited the weekend and Monday I had two more offers one for $1360 which is $260 more than I could afford to pay. Really, in my book thats price baiting. $950 was the online estimate, so lets go up $200 to $1150 max, that's still within a reasonable range. I had to pay FOUR HUNDRED AND TEN dollars more than their online estimate. This is my point.Don't put offers up online if you can't do it for plus $200 over the online estimate. If I had waited long enough I could have found someone to ship it for $1100 or under...how long do you want to wait ? The service is fine but understand online quotes are pie in the sky numbers to get you to dial their company. If you want the lowest price just wait and wait and wait, someone will pick it up...
