I made an agreement with AmeriFreight to have my car picked up in Washington State for a cross country haul. The truck that would pick up my car would secure it and never move it until delivering it here in Maryland.
The idea was the car would be safest if it was put on a truck, tied down, and not touched again. I had no idea this agreement would not be upheld.
BEN wrote it in the contract ...that the car does not get moved. He also repeatedly assured me on the phone, this would be the case.

Instead, the actual freight company they hired (probably low bidder), picked up my car on an interim truck. A small 2 vehicle carrier, to then haul off and put in the yard until the car is put on the cross country rig. I was livid. But the person who sold me the car was leaving town the next day and handed off the car. He took photos.
It became absolutely clear to me later, after speaking with the hauling company, that AmeriFreight knows full well that the big rig would not be picking up my car. Ben was interested in one thing, making the sale and getting his commission up front. He knew a small truck would haul it but seemed fine misleading me.

Sure enough, there was fresh damage underneath the car. It was making noises and I come to find it shouldn't be driven until repairs are made. Fortunately , no cosmetic damage.

AmeriFreight is not the company hauling your car. They seem to be a boiler room type of broker. There are plenty of reputable companies out there. Find one.

At Amerifreight, we do our best to ensure that each and every customer receives the best care when shipping with us. We managed to meet every one of the customer's extremely detailed requirements by finding a top rated carrier to transport their vehicle at the price and time constraints the customer requested. The customer was made aware from the beginning that although the vehicle was slated to remain on the transporter throughout its journey, it would transported briefly from the point of pick up to the main driver's location. This is done because most residential areas can be tricky for a large carrier truck to enter into. This vehicle was picked up and delivered on the exact dates requested by the customer, at the price agreed upon by the customer. Per the customer's request, we are following up on damages with the carrier company, however, without any prior knowledge of damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, there is no way to prove this damage occurred pre or post shipment.
