Shadiest company imaginable

I sought bids for an enclosed transport. They came in at the cheapest rate, so I used the on-line booking system. They followed up with a phone call saying they had me all set for an open transport. They then took a couple of business days with no luck booking at their stated rate (go figure) so I canceled the contract. They have attempted to charge me a $99 cancellation fee despite the fact that they were unable to secure a carrier. Even worse - and this is absolutely despicable and some of the worst business practices I've ever heard of - is that they would not release my name from the system and intentionally began to drive up the price offered for truckers to bid the line. What does that mean? First of all, other companies tried to steer clear of me because it appeared I already book with a different carrier. Then when I found companies that were willing to deal with me, the trucking companies out there wouldn't accept anything less than the arbitrary number that All State-to-State would put into the system. Ultimately in order to book with an open carrier it will cost $1025, about $400 more than the cheapest open carrier bid I had received. Of course the company stopped responding. I have since filed a BBB complaint and am in the process of filing a Maryland Consumer Complaint with the Attorney General. I will also seek reimbursement for the additional costs incurred because of their unethical practices. Also be wary that they use about 4 different business names (All State-to-State, Auto Transport City, Auto Transport A1, and America Car Transport). I'll attempt to leave a review for all of them.
