Contracted with AAA (or what ever their actual name is) to move my Jeep from San Diego to the Bay. The sales rep promised the sun, moon, stars, a AAA discount, #1 preferred military shipper discount, $1OO K in insurance coverage included and guaranteed that the drivers were all AAA employees and that they would not broker the contract on the board. All I asked for was to declare a firm pick up window and have it met. Their price was not the lowest, nor the highest, but if they could meet my request I’d be happy. As soon as I agreed I was sent a very one sided contract with the putative portions laid on the buyer and very little responsibility born by AAA. Happily they take AmEx, so I figured if they botch this, I have some sort of help. AAA did post the contract on the board. The sales rep became extremely irate when I called him on it. Truck arrived for pick up in laycan and delivered the next day. Jeep was in good shape. The worst part of the whole experience is being bombarded by calls from the competition who casts aspersions and tell you that AAA numbers are to low (while offering lower) and your car won’t get picked up and so on. I went with AAA, even though their price was towards the higher end of the bid range because they promised me that they employed their own drivers, I honestly don’t think they do, but they did meet all the terms on the COA, so I’ll give them 5 stars.
