Did the trick in a pinch

When my boss's car broke down on the second day of his road trip from Chicago to Seattle, he had to leave it at a dealership in a small town in Iowa. The car required more than a quick fix and therefore we needed to find a company who could pick up and delivery the car. Overall, AmeriFreight did a good job at a price that was $400-500 cheaper than other quotes we received.

My only real complaint was that the relationship between price and timing could have been explained better. I was originally only given a quote for the Economic Saver Shipment (ES) rate that had a 1-15 day time frame. When I called to follow up on their progress, it turns out that this rate is a couple hundred dollars lower than the standard rate and they have to find a driver who will agree to pick up your car at this price, and even then they may end up asking for the same as the standard rate, which has a 1-5 day pick-up time frame. It would have been nice if the agent I spoke to or the original quote had initially detailed all of the options for price relative to timing. The ES quote did say that it wasn't good for time sensitive shipments but there were no other pricing options given to compare and contrast it with. We ended up putting down a deposit on the standard rate, since we didn't want to wait 15 days with the possibility of still not finding a driver or having to pay the same as the standard rate after all.

With that said, once we put down a deposit on the standard rate the car was picked up well within the given time frame and delivered by the estimated date. I'd use AmerFrieght again since now I know how it works and what questions to ask.
