I dreaded using an auto transport company based on horrible online reviews. Making several phone calls I was immediately put off by crappy customer service and outrageous price quotes. Finally, I found this company who had a ton of positive reviews and an owner who obviously cares what the customers say/think about his company. It's rare to see any owner/manager respond to customer reviews online. Not only were we provided amazing customer service but also price quoted a very competitive rate upon our very first call to Ship A Car Direct.
Karen was our rep. She handled everything. We were busy dealing with a military move across country. She stayed in touch by phone and email and always kept us in the loop. If you're reading this definitely ask to work with Karen. She has a great amount of energy and each call is productive, informative and to-the-point.
We were put in touch with our carrier approximately a week before our final move. The carrier was friendly and also stayed in touch regarding dates, times, etc. He was running a day late but contacted us with plenty of time. He did the walk-around with us. I took pics and we all noted any current damages (dents/scratches). He carefully loaded the BMW and gave us the date he'd be arriving. He texted us the day before and the morning of arrival. We met less than 1 mile from our home to retrieve the vehicle. I mention this because I've seen reviewers get upset about picking up the car instead of it being delivered up the front drive of the home. Due to the size of the transport truck it's sometimes not very possible or extremely hard for a driver to maneuver his/her truck around neighborhoods. Please take this into account when a driver asks to meet. Of course, we were happy to meet him to get the car. We did the final walk-around, paid the driver, and took charge of the car.
If I could go back and do one thing over it would be to do a more thorough walk-around. When I got the car home I noticed the fog lamps were both cracked and one of the headlamps has a crack (hairline at the time) which has now become a noticeable crack. The halo's under the cracked headlamp (just the one side) doesn't work anymore (which I was informed of by a neighbor when I pulled up to the drive) and the BMW quote to repair all of this is outside of my budget at this time. Bummed about that. I suppose was too focused on the body and interior to notice the lamps as they weren't entirely noticeable until the lights were on.
I rate Ship A Car a 5 star all the way. HIGHLY recommended for anyone making a move and needs their cars shipped. They helped make our move quite seamless.
