I had a previous booking with another company. Paid my deposit and was given a pick up window. I had been in contact with the previous co for months prior to scheduled pickup and everytime I spoke with dispatch, I was made to feel I was being a PIA. They were always very short. So when I hadn't heard anything on the last day of the pick up window, I called and that started 4 days of phone calls, excuse after excuse, and not returning calls when promised, all the while the car was sitting here. Long story short, I had had it. I used a few internet sites to put another bid out there and within 3 minutes of one of them, I had received a call from John P at Southbeach Transport. I told him what had happened and how they treated me, he immediately told me what I needed to do to rectify the situation. and was also told the reason there was such a problem getting a driver was because the other company had bid too low and not to mention, the quote he had given me plus the $250 deposit, he was keeping and low bidding for the drivers. On top of all this stress and panic, I had explained to John that I was getting brain surgery at the end of the month and because of the situation that had put me in, my daughter had to move back east with family and this was her car and it needed to be out there asap. from the start, John was courteous and sympathetic to what was going on. He EXPLAINED every step from start to finish what he had to do. he ended up calling me back in a few hours, and completed the process in hours what the other company could not do in a week. He also followed up with me thru the entire process.
Not only did the driver show up on time, he called me the day before and explained his process as well, and that was Daniel B from Alpine Trucking. They had given me a 5-7 day delivery window and actually had the car picked up AND delivered in 5 days. This problem would never of happened if that first company was honest, but unfortunately that does not always happen, so I was very skeptical when having to start from scratch with South Beach Transport, but as soon as John had called me back with booking confirmation I knew I was going to be ok and that my daughter would get her car delivered. My mother is actually moving back east in October and there IS NO DOUBT, I will only use South Beach and if available, Alpine Transport.
for the people reviewing this post, if you go with South Beach, you will be treated respectfully, every step will be explained, and in a timely manner, so instead of your phone and email getting overloaded with quote after quote, I'd call South Beach first. Also if transporting coast to coast, food for thought, it will not be less than 1,000$ so if your quoted less than that, be aware as the price upon delivery could go up hundreds of dollars, so read your contracts carefully, as South Beach explained, once our contracts were signed job was booked, that price I was given was locked in, and it would not change, and it didn't.
