I was living in Indianapolis and needed to ship my car to Oregon. At the same time I was packing my house and moving, then catching a flight with my toddler. Shipping the car was a very daunting task, and it seemed there were a lot of opportunities for something to go wrong. Tige at
ASG explained the whole process and what was likely to happen. The unusual route meant that it could be a very long time before a driver was willing to pick up my car, and it would be an expensive shipment. Because of this information, I decided to fly out of Chicago and leave the car at an off-site airport parking lot. Tige helped me find a parking company that was familiar with this process. I left my car not knowing when it would be picked up but ended up getting a call as I was flying the next day. The cost of the shipment was $925, plus $16 in parking fees and the $200 brokerage fee to ASG. My car arrived the next week, about 12 hours earlier than the carrier estimated, and in good shape. Shipping the car worked out well. I should add, however, that I could not have managed the logistics of dropping off my car at the airport and then getting to my flight without the help of a friend in Chicago. Also, if you are leaving your car at a busy airport parking lot, make sure you leave plenty of time to find a parking space!
