DEAT is great - subcontracted carriers might not be

Direct Express subcontracts the delivery to a carrier - the quality and promptness of the carrier is likely tied to the price you pay. I was not in a huge hurry to receive my car and chose the lowest price option. This resulted in a pickup three days after the car was ready, which isn't too bad, and a delivery time exactly aligned to the carrier's estimate of seven days, which seemed lengthy for the distance. My only complaint regarding this transaction was a complete lack of status updates from the actual carrier - despite multiple inquiries, I wasn't actually called by the carrier until 40 minutes ahead of the delivery. This was not the fault of Direct Express, who's customer service was very good throughout the process, but were I to use them again I might opt for the higher priced option in the hopes of getting a more professional carrier.
