Ship a Car Direct wasn't the least expensive company I looked at but based on reviews I went with them. I'm glad I did.

I worked with Jason on the move. He was quick to respond to my quote request. We worked out the details of my move: I needed wither a weekend or evening pickup and it could not be delivered before a certain day. Both were viable. Once I approved the quote I got an email almost every day with information about the experience would go down. I believe you can opt out of those emails but I let them come in as they had good information. Once it was booked with the transport company I paid the broker fee, which was super easy.

Dispatch emailed me with the pickup information. In the email it said what types of payment they could accept but to check with them to find out. It would be nice to have that verified by dispatch and communicated to the customer when they book the transport.

The transport company (S&S Transport) did not call the day before the pickup like we were told. I called the day of the scheduled pickup and they told me they would be there in a few hours! The truck driver was very polite and we worked out a location to pick up the car. That all went smoothly.

We had snow the Monday the car was supposed to be delivered so it didn't make it that day, which was OK. On Tuesday, the car magically appeared outside my office; again, no phone call to let me know they were on their way. There was no damage on the car. I paid the driver cash, signed the BOL and that was it.

All in all, it was a great experience. Be proactive; if you don't get a phone call from the transport company or Ship a Car Direct, call them! Also, ask lots of questions. This was my first time shipping a car and asked a lot of dumb questions. Jason was great; he answered them all. If my parents move out to Kansas I will definitely use Ship a Car Direct again.
