Terrible Experience.

I had a terrible experience with Able Body Transport. Vehicle was to be shipped from Anchorage AK to Minnesota. Made the deal end of November / first week of December, felt the price was fair (although I found cheaper) and was told an estimated delivery time of 2 weeks but no more then 3. I dropped the vehicle off without issue in the early AM hours of the 8th to be shipped out the next day.

The vehicle was shipped on schedule and then sat in a port at Washington for SEVERAL WEEKS before going en route to Minnesota. I started calling the company after it had been sitting in port for a week and was told that Able Body had no control over 'shipping / trucking companies' because they are essentially middle men. The offer a commission for a load and various truckers will then take the commission and drive the vehicle to the destination. In other words, Able does NOTHING to ship the vehicle and simply arranges other companies to do all the work.

After the vehicle had been sitting for 10 days I started to get pretty frustrated. Finally, Able said they could get it on a truck to MN to arrive approx. 1 month AFTER the date I dropped it off but only if I paid them an additional $50.00. I felt like I was paying ransom to get my vehicle back. Once the vehicle was finally delivered in January I got a call about a week later from Able requesting I mail them a check for an additional $75.00 because something had been in my trunk while I had shipped the vehicle. Bear in mind, I had initially paid for the transport IN FULL the first week of December. I did not pay them the final $75.00

This was the most stressful and frustrating experience with moving I have ever had. In conclusion, I would use anyone *but* Able. I would have rather paid the extra couple hundred dollars and ship directly through a shipping company then pay money to useless middle men.
